I'm Jonnie Lee
I'm a UX Leader & Design Champion that leads a global multi-disciplinary 16-person design team at Lenovo. I'm passionate about building diverse and inclusive design teams that create technologies for a diverse population.
My team's focus is to design premium hardware and software user experiences for Lenovo's incubation businesses and emerging technologies. Over the last four years, my team has launched some of the most innovative technologies including the ThinkReality A6, ThinkReality A3, ThinkSmart View, and ThinkSmart Manager. My team includes human factors engineers, UX designers, interaction designers, UX researchers, and developers. I've grown my team from 2 to 16 people over the last three years.
Prior to Lenovo, I managed a 35-year-old printing company, Arrow Reprographics, where we doubled our revenue in under 1.5 years. In 2018, we sold the business to one of our competitors. Before small business owneship, I launched several startups across various industries while finishing my MBA at the McCombs School of Business. My concentration was on the intersection of design and business goals.
In 2010, I started my career at Johnson & Johnson designing medical devices for the most complex joint replacement solutions on the planet. During my 5 years there, I designed more than 1600 instruments as a Lead Industrial Designer and Human Factors Engineer. Seeking to better understand the challenges between design and business objectives, I left to pursue my MBA.
Outside of work, I enjoy running, writing, chatting about investment strategies, and playing with my daughters. I dedicate time each week as a mentor on several UX platforms and often teach UX design across various academic programs.
I have received several professional certificates across various disciplines such as business strategy, 3D design, and python coding. I hold a BA in Industrial Design and Pre-Medicine from Notre Dame and an MBA from UT Austin.
