Rebranding a 35 Year Old

Arrow Reprographics, Inc. is a print and design company that has lacked a unique visual identity for more than 35 years.
I had the opportunity to design a brand that reflected the company's traditional core values, but yet provided a contemporary feel.
OLD MEETS NEW
In 2014, my sister and I took over my father's printing company after his sudden passing. To preserve his legacy, we wanted to revitalize his brand and incorporate the very things he loved about his work.
We started with color.
When I was creating the icon, I wanted it to live without the wordmark and be immediately recognizable. I used a combination of arrows, transparencies and an extensive color palette to really bring home the print and design theme. If you've ever dealt with traditional printing presses, there's ink everywhere--a lot of ink.
Our new brand helped us transition from my father's traditional past into a more modern and contemporary future. The new branding also celebrated the design side of the company which we incorporated as a new service.
